Whale Search/Dolphin Watch Cruises

Mid to late July

Every year the timing of the whales coming into Hervey bay varies by a few days, sometimes weeks. Influences such as weather, water temperature and a range of factors unknown to us mean that every season is different.
So for those who cant be in the bay for our guaranteed season (Aug- Nov) we operate our ¾ day whale search dolphin watch cruise.
Our cruise departs at 830 and heads north up the bay to Rooneys Pt some 32 nautical miles or 50 km away, from here we run down along side Fraser island covering the inside section of the bay.
Along the way we search for offshore and inshore bottlenose dolphins, Sousa dolphins ,green and loggerhead turtles, sea birds, dugongs and of course the humpback whale
Although we do not guarantee you will see whales at this time of the year our success rate is in the 90% range, 100% for dolphins over the last 11 years.
The boat returns at 230pm(sometimes a bit later) as every trip is different.
